Click each tier of a tiered airspace to see how the floor rises with distance from the field while the ceiling stays put.
Find the Mode C veil and remember: manned aircraft need Mode C inside it; Part 107 flight still requires airspace authorization to enter the Bravo.
Check where MOAs sit relative to your planned flight — Part 107 can legally fly under an active MOA but should exercise extreme caution.
Polygon accuracy. Every airspace card carries a confidence tag:
Chart-verified — geometry or altitude comes directly from a regulation or the current sectional.
AFD-verified — altitude from the Chart Supplement (formerly A/FD); geometry is a standard-radius approximation.
Approximate — hand-drawn concentric ring or polygon that captures the structure but not the exact vertices. Look for the amber “Verify against current chart” note on any approximate airspace.
The FAA sectional layer underneath is the ground truth. For exam-day reference, always use the current FAA VFR Sectional or the AKTS supplement.
